Jackson's First Trip to the Zoo
This Labor Day we headed to the zoo! Jackson had fun, but we think he enjoyed the lion training session and the giraffes the most. He also got to enjoy his first sno cone!
Visit with Layla
We recently returned from CA and a little visit with Vanessa and her baby Layla. Jackson loved Layla and always wanted to be touching her. He was really sweet with her. Layla is such a pretty baby and so good! J got to have his first trip to Bristol Farms, his first carousel ride at South Coast Plaza, and a visit to the Pacific Ocean. He was in heaven.

Jackson turns 1!!!!
I am so negligent....
As you've noticed, I have been derelict in my posting duties for the last couple months. We've had quite a bit going on, though. We sold our house, and instead of being in our new house as planned, we are in an apartment. Jackson turned 1, and Troy celebrated his 30th! We've been to the lake house, Hondo, Fort Worth, and more. Jackson is so fun. We're enjoying each season as it comes. He is climbing up on things, loves to brush his teeth, and talks quite a bit. We don't understand most of what he says, but he is very good with his pointing finger. :)
These pictures are at Uncle John's old apartment (yes, he lets me play with his fire starter), and at the Children's Museum.

Pool Party Madness
Yesterday, we spent a lovely afternoon at Emma, Adam, and Flynn's pool with the Manchas. There was fabulous food and drink! We all had a wonderful time, and Jackson fell asleep on the way home...a sleep from which he did not awake during the diaper changes, pjs, etc. His eyes didn't even flutter. Today we went to John's pool and again had a relaxing time. J loves the water! PS I have to say that I LOVE the "daddy duty" picture!
Memorial Day
We had a pretty low key Memorial Day. Troy worked all day on Monday, and we spent Saturday and Sunday looking at houses and taking care of house business. Hopefully, all of that will be over before too long. My mom was here for most of the weekend, and it was really good to see her. My friend Seda made a special Memorial Day tee for Jackson, and Jackson thought the beer box was the best toy ever. Poor J also got munched by mosquitoes over the weekend. It looks like we dropped him off in Panama.
Art Car Parade
We joined John and Jody for a trip to Houston's art car parade on May 9th. It was HOT, but John had a hook up for great parking. We enjoyed seeing the crazy car creations, especially Jackson as you can see. We also stopped at Gravitas on the walk home for a cold beverage. It was a great day! I also have to give much thanks to Uncle John for coming to the house and watching Jackson so that Troy and I could celebrate of our 5th anniversary after our babysitter canceled last minute!!
